What to expect at a FLY Art Lab Workshop

FLY mobile art workshops are designed for children ages 5–11. When they arrive, kids meet a volunteer who walks them through the supply buffet. Young makers choose what they want and carry it to their work area on a tray. Volunteers offer technical help, not step-by-step instructions. FLY Art Lab lets kids enjoy the experience of self-directed making and doing.

If you’re a parent or guardian at the workshop, try asking open questions like “What’s happening here?” or “What are you working on?” — and notice their decision-making and effort along the way: “I see you tried something new,” or “I see you changed your plan.”
